The Spectator
Weekly cartoons for The Spectator magazine from 1988 to 1998. Printed half page and in colour, these cartoons have a painterly quality, watercolour and cartoon are combined. Always seeking to extend the cartoon medium, John wrote: "A picture, with the addition of writing, as part of the design could form a condensed short story."
