John Glashan, Artist and Cartoonist
Paintings
Detail of a watercolour landscape
John studied painting at Glasgow School of Art.
He painted portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, buildings, interiors and fantastical architecture, blending observation and fantasy. The style of his work is varied - broad brush strokes evoking atmosphere and impression, fine drawing and jewel like colour for detail. He worked in colour and black and white, primarily using pen and ink and watercolour. He also used a variety of mixed media to experiment with texture and colour.
